During/after your stay

There are a few things to consider during and after your stay:

Withdrawal/Premature discontinuation/Shortened stay

If you have to withdraw from your Erasmus+ International visit before going abroad or to discontinue your studies prematurely (once abroad), please contact the International Office of the University of Vienna immediately. We will inform you about all further steps to be taken.

Extension of stay

In this programme, an extension of your stay abroad is not possible.

The end of your stay

At the end of your stay the following three steps must be taken:

/

  • Online questionnaire

The EU will send you a link to an online questionnaire approximately one month before you leave your host country. This online questionnaire constitutes the first part of the final documentation and is a prerequisite for payment of the second and final instalment of the grant.

  • Submit your documents to the International Office

Within two months after the end of your study period abroad, the following documents must be handed in at the International Office:

    • Confirmation of Stay
    • Copy of your transcript of records regarding examinations taken at the host university
    • Copy of the completed Learning Agreement ("After the Mobility") including the signed National Sheet
  • Recognition of examinations/academic achievement

During their stay, students are required to obtain at least 3 ECTS credits per month while receiving the scholarship. The pertinent directorate of studies is responsible for the recognition of courses.

Compliance with this requirement will be measured by the number of credits recognised by the University of Vienna, not by the total number of credits obtained at the host university.

If the stay abroad is used for scientific research, credits will be replaced by a written confirmation issued by your supervisor and documenting your progress.

    Deadline for recognition:

    • Two months after the student's return from his/her stay abroad
    • Recipients of federal aid for students must submit the credits actually transferred to the Study Grant Authority. Please observe the relevant internal deadlines and guidelines.
