Hebrew University of Jerusalem
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem was founded in 1918 and is today considered Israel's top university. At the Hebrew University 23,000 students are studying at 7 faculties and 14 schools. The university plays a leading role in promoting innovation and social processes of change, including in the fields of the economy, the natural sciences and the educational sciences. This success is reflected in the large amount of research funding which the university has acquired, as well as in the registration of more than 10,000 international patents, among other things.
The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the University of Vienna are bound together by many years of collaboration stretching back to the 1980s, e.g. through the Center for Austrian Studies. A strategic partnership has existed between the two universities since 2015.
