ASEA-UNINET
The ASEAN-European Academic University Network (ASEA-UNINET) originally founded in Austria, has now spread all over Europe. Its aim is to initiate and promote research cooperation projects between European and South East Asian universities.
ASEA-UNINET Austria supports the exchange of knowledge between contracting partners that signed the “Mutual Agreement“ of ASEA-UNINET. The network’s main activity consists in organising and financing the exchange of scientists and/or postgraduates and the resulting transfer of knowledge as proposed in co-operation projects to be financed. Its activities are based on a “Training and Mobility“ concept aimed at promoting an exchange between Europe and South East Asia and also at improving collaboration between South East Asian universities, creating opportunities for generating programmes with other European universities
Forms of projects between institutions:
- Jointly planned research programs at various ASEA-UNINET universities
- Education and training in a specific area of work or with regard to certain verification procedures and methods
- Block courses (approx. one month) in the sense of short-term visiting professorships
- Educational activities: training courses, workshops and field trips
ASEA-UNINET grants the following types of financial assistance in the scope of the selected co-operation projects:
- Stays of visiting researchers and doctoral students from South East Asia
- Visits of Austrian scientists of the University of Vienna to South East Asia (the Asian partner universities ought to be able to offer the costs of the stay for at least one week)
