International Profile of the University of Vienna

The University of Vienna - an international university in a cosmopolitan city.

Located near the city center of Austria's internationally diverse capital, the University of Vienna itself is a truly international educational and research institution. For instance: a good 30% of its active students come from abroad, and among PhD students the figure is as high as 45%. One third of the 111 master's programs are taught exclusively in English. Almost 75% of the newly appointed professors are international.

This international atmosphere is also reflected in the diverse international relations of the University of Vienna and the specific activities within these cooperations. More than 2700 student exchanges are carried out annually between the University of Vienna and its partners - not counting short-term stays. A large part of these involve the nearly 350 partners of the Erasmus+ programme, but there are also a more than 400 exchanges with partners outside Europe.

Like the University of Vienna, its partners are among the best universities in the world and are also leading research and educational institutions in their home countries.

At the center of the University of Vienna's international activities are the university-wide partnerships, first and foremost the two European Strategic Networks - CIRCLE U and CENTRAL - and the five current Strategic Partnerships, but also the collaborations with over 70 research universities worldwide.
