This multidisciplinary blended intensive programme provided Master's and PhD students with a comprehensive educational experience, integrating online learning with an intensive five-day in-person session at UCLouvain in Louvain-la-Neuve, where students presented their entrepreneurial solutions.
For students like Nicole Weinkauf, a Master's student in Geography: Global Change and Sustainability at the University of Vienna, the course offered a unique chance to bridge innovation and sustainability:
“As a student of Global Change and Sustainability, I am acutely aware of the transdisciplinary nature of tackling our current climate crisis. Not only that, but the problems that need solving are cross-cultural and global. I wanted to participate in a program like the Entrepreneurial Change-Making course because it engages students in both aspects. Innovation is a key factor in the sustainability transformations I study, and being a part of an innovation program gives me practical experience. The weekly courses have been diverse and engaging, and working with a cross-functional team is the perfect practice for entering the real world of tackling wicked problems. We have been challenged to think innovatively each week, and that can transition into any future career path that we may take. And the relationships we can make with students from around the world will foster the global connections needed to push us towards sustainable solutions.”
The University of Vienna is dedicated to support initiatives that foster entrepreneurial mindsets and cross-disciplinary collaboration. We are already looking forward to the next edition of the Entrepreneurial Change-Making course in 2025. Keep an eye on the Circle U. alliance website from May onwards for more information.
