Welcome reception for International Exchange Students, Summer Semester 2020
On 3 March 2020, the welcome reception for all international exchange students of the summer semester, organized by the International Office, took place.180 exchange students gathered in the Small Ceremonial Chamber of the University of Vienna.
Around 300 incoming students started their exchange semester at the University of Vienna these days. At the reception, representatives of the University officially welcomed them.
Karin Krall, Head of the Student Mobility Team, hosted the evening. Especially at the beginning of the semester, she and her colleagues from the International Office support the incoming students with advice and practical help.
The team of ESN invited all exchange students to take part in the Erasmus Student Network activities. ESN gives incoming students the possibility to get in contact with local students through their buddy network and offers many social activities for incoming students.
Kathrin Dolmanitz, mobility coordinator at the department of Economics, spoke on behalf of all mobility coordinators. She encouraged the students to get to know the locals and enjoy the semester abroad to the fullest.
Meri-Tulli Marttala, Finnish incoming student from the University of Turku, feels privileged to spend her semester abroad in Vienna. She wants to broaden her academic horizon and improve her German skills during her stay.
After the official opening, the informal part of the evening started with a buffet.
