Peking University President Gong visits the University of Vienna

On April 6, 2023 Peking University President Qihuang Gong visited the University of Vienna together with a delegation and met with Rector Sebastian Schütze to exchange about ongoing and future collaborations. Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Austria Mei Qi also participated in the meeting.

Moreover, President Gong and Rector Schütze discussed the challenges artificial intelligence technology such as ChatGPT poses to universities and pointed to the need for higher education institutions to play a proactive role in combating climate change and to lead by example.

President Gong and the Peking University delegation also participated in a networking session that provided the opportunity to interact and exchange with researchers of the University of Vienna in the areas of life sciences, environmental sciences and philosophy.
