Circle U. Activities as an Erasmus+ BIP

For participation in Circle U. activities that are funded as Erasmus+ BIP, the above requirements apply. 

Please clarify the recognition of at least 3 ECTS with your SPL before applying for a Circle U. BIP. To participate, please submit your application to the organizers of the Circle U. BIP. The selected students will then be informed directly about the next steps for funding. Here is a list of Circle U. Summer Schools. 

Funding

The recognition of the BIP with at least 3 ECTS in the nominated degree programme at the University of Vienna is a prerequisite for the participation in the BIP and for receiving the Erasmus+ grant. Please make sure that you remain enrolled at the University of Vienna at least until you receive the notification of academic recognition and that you have sufficient ECTS credits for successful recognition.

Mobile participants receive Erasmus+ funding for the short-term mobility that is part of the BIP. The exact amount of funding depends on several factors and is calculated based on the information provided during the application process.

The funding consists of the Erasmus+ grant and a travel grant, which is paid out in one instalment after signing the grant agreement.

  • Mobility grant

    physical mobility period: 5 á 79€/day

  • Travel allowance

    The amount of the travel grant is calculated during the application process. It depends on various factors such as the distance between Vienna as the place of origin and the location of the host university, as well as the chosen means of transportation. The travel allowance is higher for green travel (arrival and departure by bus, train, carpooling or bicycle).

    Please note: Students who receive travel support from another entity cannot receive the travel support via Erasmus+ to avoid double funding.

  • Top-Ups for students with fewer opportunities

    Students with fewer opportunities (e.g. students with disabilities, with child/ren or with health issues) can apply for additional funding.

  • Inclusion support

    Apply 3 months before your stay

    Inclusion support is intended to cover additional real financial costs incurred primarily by participants with physical, mental, or health impairments. Inclusion support (based on real costs) and top-ups can be obtained simultaneously. The deadline for the application is three months before the start of the stay. For questions regarding the application and for further information, please contact the Erasmus+ BIP Team as early as possible.

After the stay

Confirmation of attendance

Before your departure from the host university, it is necessary to get a confirmation of stay ("Aufenthaltsbestätigung") for the entire period of your Erasmus+ BIP stay (excluding travel days) signed by the host university. 

Please upload the confirmation of stay as a PDF to Mobility Online no later than 1 month after the end of your stay. 

Alternatively, it can be sent by email from the host university to the Erasmus+ BIP team ().
Note: Please keep the original in a safe place. We reserve the right to request originals on a case-by-case basis. 
 

Final documents

  • Transcript of records: If the BIP is embedded in a course, implemented at the University of Vienna, please upload the transcript of records of your host university and the transcript of records (= Sammelzeugnis) of the University of Vienna (please highlight the respective course) after having successfully completed the course.

  • Notification of academic recognition:  If the BIP is not embedded in a course at the University of Vienna, apply for recognition at your SSC (or SSSt). To apply for recognition please submit the application for recognition along with the transcript of records from your host university to your SSC/SSSt. Once the recognition has been processed, you will receive a notification of academic recognition (= Anerkennungsbescheid). Please upload the transcript of records of your host university together with your notification of academic recognition in Mobility Online within 2 months after the BIP.
