Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training (non-academic staff)
The Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training programme enables members of the non-academic university staff to acquire new skills and professional experience in other European countries (Erasmus+ programme countries). This programme is aimed at employees of the University of Vienna who are planning a stay at a partner institution for the purpose of further education or training relevant to their job. Stays are possible at universities as well as at non-university institutions (e.g. libraries, companies, etc.).

Key facts
- Target group: Employees of the non-academic university staff who are employed with the University of Vienna for at least 20 hours per week.
- Duration of the stay: 2-5 days (including travel days)
Travel days (max. 2) are only funded for stays of less than 5 days (only 1 travel day is funded for stays of 4 days) - Possible destinations: Universities and non-university institutions in other European countries (Erasmus+ programme countries: EU countries + North Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Serbia, Liechtenstein and Türkiye)
- Application deadline: Applications are possible at any time.
Please submit your application at least six weeks before the planned stay. - Funding Reimbursement of travel, accommodation and living costs (daily allowance); a maximum of EUR 150 is reimbursed per night.
Please be aware that costs for training fees are not covered.
Before applying
- Enquire about the availability of Erasmus funding for staff training mobility via staffmobility(at)univie.ac.at.
- Obtain the consent of your superior to participate in an Erasmus+ Staff Training programme.
- You have two options:
- You can take part in an organised staff training week.
On the staffmobility.eu website, you will find a database of Erasmus staff weeks. - Identify a host institution for your intended training independently and agree on a suitable format or programme with the host (e.g. job shadowing or participation in workshops)
- You can take part in an organised staff training week.
Application procedure
- Please complete the Mobility Agreement and obtain the signature of both the host institution and the head of your organisational unit or subunit.
- Please send the fully signed Mobility Agreement as a scan by e-mail at least six weeks before the start of your stay.
Approval of the application
- The International Office will check the Mobility Agreement. If it is approved, we will send you the Grant Agreement and information on the application for the business trip.
- Please sign the Grant Agreement and return it before (!) the start of your stay by e-mail to the International Office.
- Submit an application for a business trip via HRFI (Travel Requests app; with signed Grant Agreement attached) as soon as possible after receiving the funding agreement. The application for the business trip must be approved before the start of the trip.
During and after the stay
- Please obtain a confirmation of stay on the last day of your mobility and send the original by post and a copy by e-mail to the International Office. We will provide you with the relevant form.
- Once your stay is complete, please fill out the Erasmus+ online report. You will automatically receive an e-mail with the link at the end of your stay.
- Once your trip is over, apply via HRFI for reimbursement of travel, accommodation and living costs (daily allowance) as part of your business trip (Travel Accounting app).
