Summer School "Rethinking Global Health"

08.08.2022

Circle U. invited PhD students and early-career researchers to the first edition of its summer school on "Rethinking Global Health", hosted by Université Paris Cité from 4 to 8 July.

Participant Dr. Polona Zajec reported her experience to us:

"In the first week of July 2022, I had the honor to represent the University of Vienna in the very first Circle U. (European University Alliance) Summer School on ‘Rethinking Global Health’ for PhDs and Postdocs hosted by the Université Paris Cité at the Imagine Institute of Genetic Diseases in Paris, France.

It was an inspiring and thought-provoking week discussing health inequalities from an individual to a global perspective, the distribution of healthcare resources, migration, the role of women’s health, and the past, as well as the future, of globalized medicine with leading professors, clinicians, scholars, and researchers.

The rich research ecosystem with transnational alliances that Circle U. (European University Alliance) is creating is exactly the type of multidisciplinary network I want to build for my PhD and career beyond academia to address the complex and interconnected issues of the times we live in. If this first edition of the Circle U. Summer School is any indicator of the future of research, the future looks good."
