Selection procedure

Submission

There are different submission deadlines depending on the agreement. Applicants must submit their complete application documents by the submission deadline to the Student Mobility Office located in the main building of the University of Vienna, Staircase 5 (International Office). Please find a list of the required application documents in our Information sheet or in each Call for applications.

Please note: Departmental agreements may have additional departmental requirements! Have a look at the lists with specific information about the application details.

Selection panel

After the successful submission of all application documents, your application documents will be forwarded to the selection panel. Selection committees take place approximately one month after the application deadlines. If you are invited to an interview, you will receive detailed information in your invitation e-mail.

Decision

Applicants will be informed of the results of the selection process in writing, approximately 3-4 weeks after their interview with the selection panel. If you have been selected for a university place, you will receive (by mail) a notification letter (Zuerkennungsschreiben) which informs you about the details of your study grant. For data protection reasons, no information about the awarding of grants can be provided over the telephone.
