What do I have to take care of before I can apply for the ERASMUS+ funding?

To be eligible for the ERASMUS+ funding you have to find yourself an internship position abroad which meets the conditions for the mobility programme.

The International Office does not arrange internship positions for students. You can check out the following website for tips on how to find a work placement.

In order to apply for the ERASMUS+ funding you need the following documents:

  • Form: Learning Agreement for Traineeships
The Learning Agreement has to be signed by yourself, the receiving institution where you will do your internship and your study programme director. With their signature the study programme director confirm the internship's relevance to your studies.
--> who is my study programme director? Check out the website of your study service center (SSC) - you will find the information there.
In case you apply for an internship for recent graduates your internship will neither be recorded in the diploma supplement nor can ECTS be accredited. However, the signature of your study programme director is still mandatory!
--> Problems/questions regarding the Learning Agreement? Check out the guide on how to fill in the form (in German).

  • Form: Declaration regarding insurance
Please clarify with your employer if they will provide accident and liability insurance. This lies within your resonsibility. With your signature on the form you declare that you will take care of that matter.
--> Read more on insurance here.

  • Language Certificate
As part of the Erasmus internship application, applicants have to prove appropriate language skills. The required language proficiency is stated by the host institution (at least B1). Except: Working Language German.
--> Read more on language certificates here.
  • Curriculum Vitae
CVs can be submitted in any form. Europass is not required.

  • Confirmation of health insurance
Scan of your Health insurance certificate (e.g. European Health Insurance Card, ecard)

  • Passport/ID

  • Scan of your university diploma (only applicable for internships for recent graduates)
As you will receive your diploma only after finishing your studies, please submit it via Mobility Online as soon as possible.

Applications must be submitted at least 6 weeks before the internship starts. You will need all the documents listed above for the application.

Accreditation fo your intership / Diploma Supplement

In order to be eligible for the ERASMUS+ funding your internship must
be recorded in your Diploma Supplement (this is NOT your transcript of records but a document that accompanies your university diploma),
ECTS must be accredited (minimum 3 ECTS per month -- if your internship lasts three months, at least 9 ECTS must be accredited).
