Studying at the University of Vienna with Erasmus+

Students from Erasmus+ partner universities may spend one or two semesters at the University of Vienna within the Erasmus+ programme. In order to be able to participate in the Erasmus+ programme, there has to be a bilateral agreement with the partner university assigned to the relevant field of study and the student must be nominated for an Erasmus+ stay at the University of Vienna by the partner university.

Therefore you cannot apply for an Erasmus+ stay at the University of Vienna by yourself directly.

Nomination by your home university

Please contact your home university in order to be nominated as an Erasmus+ student at the University of Vienna (Erasmus+ Code: A WIEN01).

Please keep in mind that at the University of Vienna each bilateral agreement is assigned to a specific field of study (and not an entire faculty).  It is not possible to nominate students outside the agreed field of study.

Exception: students of German Studies with a minimum German level of B2 can be nominated for German Studies via agreements of other language studies as well.

This list provides the incoming study placements within the bilateral agreements at the University of Vienna.

Nomination procedure

The nomination is exclusively done via our online nomination system. If your home university should not have the necessary access data for the online nomination, please ask them to contact us via erasmus.incoming@univie.ac.at.
